DESCRIPTION:Join us virtually in celebration of Sea Turtle Awareness Day on April 2!  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDONATE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Virtual Event\n\n\n\nSupport our Sea Turtle Conservation Program!  \n\n\n\nClearwater Marine Aquarium is responsible for surveying 21 miles of sandy beach along the Pinellas County shoreline for sea turtle nesting activity. All species of sea turtle are threatened or endangered\, which is why it’s critical that we protect them. It is estimated that only 1 in 1\,000 hatchlings will survive into adulthood. Due to the dense human population of Pinellas County\, we have significant issues with artificial lighting causing hatchling disorientation events. We also work to protect nests from other dangers such as predators and beach-goers. \n\n\n\nTune in for a special live virtual event on April 2 with our Sea Turtle Nesting Team in preparation for sea turtle nesting season and learn how you can help us raise awareness for sea turtles!  \n\n\n\nHow You Can Help: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBecome an ambassador and donate to receive a commemorative Sea Turtle Awareness Day t-shirt and other items. You can protect a nest by purchasing a sea turtle plaque. Activities will include classroom activities the explore the Florida pre-kindergarten standards\, interactive games\, and fun facts about the animal of the month! \n\n\n\nApril 19: Turtle Tales\n\n\n\nDo you love sea turtles? If so\, this is the one-hour playdate for you! Learn about how sea turtles navigate through their lifecycle from egg to adulthood with hands-on activities. Discover the parts of a sea turtle and interact with real biofacts. Design your own sea turtle shell\, listen to a story about sea turtle nesting on Clearwater Beach\, and discover ways we can all help sea turtles! \n\n\n\nFor children ages 3-5. Tickets do not include admission to the aquarium.  \n\n\n\n10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nPrice: $15.00 (one child & chaperone) / $5.00 per additional participant \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n\nCMA has implemented significant additional safety precautions to protect staff\, animals\, and guests while ensuring a fun and educational visit with limited guests. \n\n\n\nPrices\, dates\, times and other details subject to change.
