We had over 40 volunteers help clean up the causeway. \n875 pounds of trash were collected\, including almost 10 pounds of cigarette butts and straws alone (enough to fill a 5-gallon bucket). \n“Birds of Prey” Environmental Awareness and Coastal Cleanup \nCome out to kick off our “Birds of Prey” Weekend! Seabirds are frequently affected by marine debris by ingesting it or becoming entangled. Join our efforts in cleaning up trash along the Memorial Causeway. \nTime: 8:00am – 10:00am (Check – in starts at 7:45am) \nParking: is available at a lot located at: 127 Island Way Clearwater\, FL 33767 \nPlease note: parking will not be available in Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s parking garage. \n\nCleanup supplies will be provided\nRefillable water station will be available\nPrizes\nRefreshments\n\nDon’t forget to bring: \n\nRefillable water bottle\nSunblock\nHat/Sunglasses\nClosed toed shoes\nInsect repellent\nContainer to collect trash\n\nHelp us “Go Green” by reducing the use of single use plastic trash bags. Boyd Hill Nature Park\, The Narrows at George C.
