Over 1\,040 pounds of trash were collected.  \n \nView more photos from Sea Turtle Awareness Day 2019 \n\nJoin our Sea Turtle Conservation Team for a special day focused on sea turtle nesting and conservation at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach! Learn what you can do to help protect these endangered marine animals and participate in coastal cleanup activities on the beach and in the water. \nActivities and Fun for the Family: \n\nBeach Cleanup at Pier 60.\nEducational games for kids.\nChildren’s Latin dance group.\nSea turtle nesting stake painting.\nNest site and other educational displays.\nLive music\, local vendors and food!\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n		\n\n\nBeach Cleanup\nFree t-shirt and goodie bag for all cleanup participants! (While supplies last.) \n\nWe have received enormous interest and support for the cleanup event and are grateful for everyone that signed up to volunteer. Thank you all for supporting coastal conservation! \nThere will be lots of activities\, food\, music\, vendors\, and sea turtle themed fun for anyone who wishes to attend Sea Turtle Awareness Day at Clearwater Beach\, but did not register for the beach clean-up. \nWe hope everyone enjoys Sea Turtle Awareness Day! \n\nTips & Reminders: \n\nPlease meet at Pier 60 at 8 a.m. to sign in.\nLimited parking is available at Pier 60 for an hourly fee. View Parking Map.\nPlease bring your own utility or garden gloves if you have them to reduce plastic waste.\nAdditional gloves\, burlap bags\, and buckets will be available to collect items.\nParticipants will bring items back to Pier 60 to receive a goodie bag.\n\nIn an effort to be more environmentally friendly\, we will be using buckets instead of plastic trash bags. \nPlease note: Participants will be required to sign a waiver at check-in. Parents/legal guardians will need to sign a waiver for any participant under 18 years of age. \nPlease bring the following items with you: \n\nHat.\nSunscreen.\nReusable water bottle.\nComfortable walking shoes.\n\nWe will also be accepting any donation items from our Sea Turtle Nesting Wish List. \nSpecial thanks to Duke Energy\, for supporting our sea turtle and beach conservation efforts.
